Join us on a stroll in and adjacent to the Columbia neighborhoods of West Ash and Sunset Lane. The residential landscaping and gardens of numerous residences in this vicinity will be observed (from the street or sidewalk) and discussed. A handout will be provided and some walking will be on uneven surfaces (streets and poor quality sidewalks). (NO public bathroom available with this tour; please plan accordingly). Your tour guide, James Quinn, is a retired horticulture specialist from Univ. of MO Extension, and has a rich depth of organizing and leading educational efforts with flowers, fruit, vegetables, greenhouses and ornamentals. He has enjoyed gardening/landscaping at the one acre yard of the Prairie Bungalow house ‘on Broadway’ that he’s resided at with his wife for 25+ years. James is joined by Patrick Earney who is a structural engineer by day, historic preservation lover by night.
