Join us August 26, 2025, 6-7:45 pm at the Friends Room of the Columbia Public Library to hear from Carla Cornette about her research into her historic home on West Ash Street.
Join us on a walking tour of Columbia, MO to explore some of the stories surrounding its founding and highlight its unique historic architecture. This approximate 2-mile, 2-hour stroll through downtown CoMo provides an engineer's perspective on bricks in Columbia: A discussion of the what, how and why of Columbia's brick streets, brick making, and brick construction.
Join us on a hiking tour to explore the history and nature of the 201-acre Alspaugh park, including two historic cemeteries. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Bug spray and sunscreen recommended. This approximate 2-mile, 3-hour hike is led by guide, Bruce Alspaugh who is the son of John W. Alspaugh for whom the park is named.

A new 8-week class, History of Columbia, Missouri, will start on Sept. 10, offered by Osher@Mizzou. Sign-up begins Aug. 19 for the in-person and online 8-week course. This is the first Columbia history course offered by Osher.
